I came to this show late, toward the end of season one of The Originals actually, but I still learned to love TVD for what it was and the pilot episode was big part of that. I loved the characters they introduced and the way they introduced them. Right off the bat, I was drawn to Damon's, Caroline's, and Bonnie's stories. I liked Stefan, but it took a while for me to truly warm up to him as he came off more than a little stalkerish in the first couple of episodes.
